ABOUT CIM PROGRAM

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is the largest, longest established and most respected United Kingdom-based professional marketing body in the world, representing the members and industry for more than 100 years. CIM has the unique ability to confer Chartered Marketer status to deserving holders, in recognition of achievement in theory, practical experience and expertise. It’s the highest accreditation that one can be awarded. Currently CIM has close to 30,000 members worldwide with about 14,000 studying members. CIM offers a range of marketing qualifications to suit all levels; from junior marketers at the outset of their careers, right through to those at board or senior strategic levels.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Level 6 Diploma in Sustainable Marketing
  • • CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing/Digital Marketing;
  • • Any relevant Level 4 qualification;
  • • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with at least one third of credits coming from marketing content;
  • • Professional practice (suggested two years marketing in an operational role);
  • • Diagnostic assessment onto Level 6;
  • • English language qualification if English is not your first language.
* Students are required to provide Noesis a copy of their diagnostic test result as part of the registration process.

PRACTICAL WORK EXPERIENCE

To become a Chartered Marketer you must:

  • • Become a Graded Member: upon completion of Level 6, a student can apply for an ACIM (Associate) which is a Graded Membership;
  • • Complete 2 consecutive years of Continuing Professional Development; and
  • • Pass the Chartered Assessment

Once you have met these criteria, you will be awarded Chartered Marketer status.

Unit 1: Situation Analysis
  • • Understand how to analyse an organisation’s current and future internal and external environments (15%).
  • • Interpret relevant information and insights to recommend and inform strategic decision making (15%).
Unit 2: Planning
  • • Develop marketing objectives and strategy to deliver organisational objectives (20%).
  • • Develop a strategic marketing plan and a supporting marketing mix to deliver marketing objectives (20%).
Unit 3: Implementation and Control
  • • Define the resources required to deliver the strategic marketing plan (15%).
  • • Apply the results of monitoring and measurements, and adapt the marketing plan for continuous improvement (15%).

Unit 1: Innovation
  • • Understand how innovation and disruption are influencing organisational growth (15%).
  • • Assess the key factors that facilitate innovation in organisations (15%).
Unit 2: Innovative Marketing
  • • Apply principles of innovation throughout the marketing function (20%).
  • • Develop a business case for a marketing related innovation (20%).
Unit 3: Innovation in Action
  • • Understand activities required for the implementation of innovative marketing (15%).
  • • Develop a plan for the communication of innovation (15%).

  • • Understand the sustainability landscape and its wider
    concepts; what it means for business and society. (15%).
  • • Assess the organisation’s greater purpose (including societal
    commitment), and the role of marketing in achieving
    sustainability now and in the future. (20%).
Unit 2: Creating and co-creating value
  • • Determine an appropriate customer-focused approach to
    the sustainability challenge. (15%).
  • • Evaluate ways to collaborate and co-create with
    stakeholders to deliver change. (15%).
Unit 3: Implementing Sustainability
  • • Determine the resource required to effect change and
    deliver long-term value driven and profitable solutions. (20%).
  • • Create an action plan to implement change and measure
    results through effective metrics. (15%).
